Casa Emilia is a family retreat set in three hectares of centuries-old olive groves, some of the trees over a thousand years old, just four minutes by car (or a 25-minute walk) from Ostuni along a quiet country lane. Sleeping eight guests across a three-bedroom main house and a separate one-bedroom guest house, Casa Probo, the property looks out over its own olive groves to the sea, the surrounding hills and the rooftops of Ostuni itself, all enclosed within stone walls behind an electric gate. The sea is ten minutes by car, with Cisternino and the seafood restaurants of Savelletri around twenty minutes away.

The main house holds three en-suite bedrooms: a master with a king bed opening onto a private terrace through metal shutters, a second king bedroom looking over the aranceto, the walled citrus courtyard, and a third with a fitted wardrobe and a trundle bed that makes up as two singles. Antique wooden doors, stone floors and silent air conditioning run throughout. The fully equipped kitchen has a Bosch oven, a vaulted ceiling and a refectory dining table for eight, and opens onto a sunny west-facing sitting room with a fireplace.

A hundred metres from the main house, the separate guest house adds a fourth bedroom with a queen bed, its own kitchenette, en-suite bathroom and pergola, ideal for a fourth couple or older children wanting their own space. Guests have exclusive use of both buildings and the full three hectares of grounds.

Outdoors, a large swimming pool anchors the property, with six sun loungers, a three-seater sofa, two armchairs, a table tennis table and a French boules court close by. A second, more relaxed sitting area looks out over the lawn, while up on the roof a sundowner terrace with its own bar, sink and fridge takes in panoramic views over the olive groves to Ostuni and the sea, especially memorable after dark.

An outdoor kitchen with its own fridge, barbecue and traditional Puglian pizza oven sits beside a long pergola-shaded table, made for lazy lunches or dinners beneath the lit-up olive trees. The main kitchen also has a dishwasher, and wifi reaches even the garden. Free parking is available on site, with a personal welcome on arrival, and bikes can be arranged for exploring the surrounding countryside.
